Dillon reservoir fly fishing is rewarding, wherever it's done, but there's nothing quite like battling Rainbow Trout in the High Country. Summit County offers stunning gold medal fly fishing waters that present beautiful settings and plenty of opportunities to fill your fishing nets. Lake Dillon, a fantastic high mountain lake, provides a great collection of attractions from sailing to paddleboarding in the summer and ice fishing in the winter. It also nurtures some of the local's favorite covert flyfishing waters. The Blue River starting at the lake's base, then weaves its way through Silverthorne, giving anglers great sport fishing opportunities with easy access to new pockets containing feisty Trout that put up a fight regardless of their size. The stocked fish bite readily in the area, but if you are looking for a challenge, the Heavyweight Trout that call the tailwaters home will test your technical abilities. Be sure those monsters, although good at hiding, are there.
