Underrated Items to Bring Snowboarding
Find out what is essential to pack and ways to stay warm for your next snowboarding adventure!
Beyond the essential items to bring snowboarding like goggles, gloves, and boots, there are a few more critical items that can help you stay on the slopes in Colorado for longer.
How to stay warm?
Stay cool to stay warm!
TIPS FOR STAYING WARM:
One of the biggest enemies of staying warm is actually overheating and sweating. Why should you avoid sweating? When you begin to overheat and sweat, the base layers will become damp or wet and freeze with the cold climate.
To avoid this, follow these three tips:
Dress in layers: Layering your clothes is the key to dressing on a snowboarding trek. The base layers should be thermal underwear and synthetic long-sleeved shirts to help keep you dry. The next layer will focus on insulation; a fleece pullover and warm pants will suffice. The outermost layer is to protect you from the wind and water.
Ventilation: When purchasing the outermost layer of clothes, try to find a jacket with ventilation zips, usually around the armpits and sides. This can be crucial in the moments of overheating to avoid sweat.
ESSENTIAL PACK LIST:
>> NECK WALLET:
When your hands are in mittens, the last thing you want to do is try to unzip and fish out your wallet. A neck wallet can be easily accessed by unzipping your jacket and avoiding the risk of dropping it on the chairlifts.

>> SNOWBOARD LOCK:
Sometimes leaving your snowboard unintended happens. Keep your new gear safe with a snowboard lock (make sure your snowboard is secured bindings side down to avoid your bindings being stolen).
>> PORTABLE CHARGER:
Keep your phone charged throughout the day with a portable charger. With the incredible views, you will likely have your phone out taking photos or videos throughout your trip. A portable charger (waterproof and shockproof charger preferable) can keep you from getting stuck with no phone on the slopes.
>> SPARE SOCKS:
A spare set of socks will feel incredible after a long day of tracking through the snow and almost inevitably getting your feet wet. Our favorite brand is DarnTough snowboarding socks, made from moisture-wicking wool providing all-day comfort. These socks also include an unconditional guarantee for life.
>> HEAT PACKS:
These little packs can make a huge difference in your warmth when you are stuck in line or on the gondola. Slip a pack into your gloves to keep your hands warm for a couple of hours at a time.
